Meals

Here at Little Lambs Nursery we encourage and promote healthy eating.

Parents are asked to provide their child with a well-balanced diet. We also encourage and promote the guidelines set out by the Government, download our Handbook below for more details.

If your child is joining us for breakfast, lunch or tea please provide them with an age and stage appropriate well balanced meal.

Meals should be age and stage appropriate as this also helps with speech and language not only nutritional value.

Refreshments are provided throughout the day by Little Lambs, we offer milk, water (cooled, boiled water for under 1’s)

Breakfast: 8am – 9am
(Last breakfast is given at 8.50am)

We offer ‘Breakfast Club’ service or you can bring your own in. Little Lambs will provide Milk & Butter.

Morning Snack: 10am

Little Lambs provides a choice of snacks and drinks (Usually Milk)

Lunch: 12pm – ends depending on children

Parents are asked to provide lunch. This would mostly be a sandwich lunch but warm light meals can be served too.

Afternoon Snack: 2pm

Little Lambs provides a choice of snacks and drinks (Usually Milk)

Parents are also asked to provide meals which are age and stage appropriate. Evidence suggests that the correct amount of food and the correct consistency of a well-balanced diet help develop areas such as speech and language as well as nutritional value.

Useful information …

• All food will be stored in our fridge if required
• All food which needs to be re-heated will be done so using our microwave – food temperatures will be tested using a probe
• All microwave ready meals will be heated using the printed guidelines
• Please do not send in meals which ‘may contain bones’ as we are unable to check this
• Baby bottles will NOT be heated/reheated in a microwave
• No sweets or chewing gum should be given
• Little Lambs is a NUT FREE ZONE – please do not send in any nuts
• Meals should take no longer than 5 minutes to prepare
