We are a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance, which deliver acclaimed training, offer information and advice to early years professionals and parents. They also campaign to positively influence childcare policy and practice. So you know your child will be well looked after and taught to the highest standards.

We are proud to boast a low turnover of staff which means that the children really get to know the staff here and the staff really gets to know each child. The end result is good relationships being built all around.

Our aim is to ensure that your child feels safe, secure and happy in a warm friendly and caring environment. We do this by working closely with all parents/carers.

Staff

At Little Lambs Nursery we believe that staff are the key to your child’s happiness, children will respond and develop good skills if staff are dedicated and passionate about their jobs.  At Little Lambs we boast of a ‘low turnover’ of key staff ensuring that children make good and strong relationships allowing children to develop self-esteem, self-confidence, and ensuring that children feel happy in expressing themselves within their environment.  We also allow students from the local college to do their work placement at Little Lambs this allows these students vital learning skills and practical experience with young children.  Placements usually are one day a week with some block week placements.

Staff are carefully trained in a wide range of areas allowing staff the opportunity to learn and gain more knowledge in areas of importance.  Key staff have good knowledge and understanding in areas such as: SENCO/INCO, Behaviour Management, First Aid, Child Protection/Safeguarding and Food Hygiene, Child Development to name but a few.

All Key staff are highly qualified and have good knowledge of child development; some staff are working towards their qualifications to enhance their knowledge and development.  At Little Lambs we boost of a higher percentage of qualified staff.

Staff are vetted carefully ensuring all staff meet the requirements set out by OFSTED.  All staff holds a clear DBS Enhanced Disclosure.  Additional staff including students and volunteers at times works within out nursery.  All adults working directly with children have also been vetted carefully and if relevant hold a DBS check.

At NO time does any adult ever work alone or unsupervised, this includes staff, volunteers and students.   We operate within an ‘open planned’ room allowing these guidelines to be followed fully.  This also include our outdoor spaces, there will always be at least two staff members during outside free play.  Little Lambs does not endorse or encourage lone working.

At Little Lambs Nursery we take Safeguarding of all children and staff seriously and continue to monitor all procedures in place.
